There are a few different scenarios when you may be adding a new care plan:
- Adding a care plan for a site where the hosting already exists
- Adding a care plan for a new site without existing services
- Reactivating a care plan on a canceled site
The instructions are different depending on the scenario, but we have them all outlined below!
If you need to change an existing care plan, see How do I change a site’s care plan?
Adding care plan when hosting already exists
If we developed a site for you and you’re adding a WordPress care plan, it’s likely that the site already exists in the Partner Portal and you only need to add a care plan.
- In the Partner Portal, navigate to Websites in the sidebar and then select the website that you want to add a care plan to:

Troubleshooting: If you cannot find the site, follow the instructions for Adding a new care plan without existing services below.
- Select the Care Plan tab at the top of the page. You will see a notice that this site does not have a care plan. Click the Add Care Plan button towards the right of the screen:

- Select the care plan that you want to add in the pop-up modal:

Not sure which plan to choose? See What care plans are available?
- Confirm your selection by clicking OK:

You site will be added based on today’s date.
Adding a new care plan without existing services
If you are adding a care plan with external hosting (like Shopify), you will first need to add an account, contact, and website using the Add Website Wizard.
- In the Partner Portal, navigate to Websites in the sidebar and then click the New Website button in the top right:

- Enter the domain of the site and choose Create New Account to set up a new client in our portal:

Note that we you should use the client’s information here, not yours, as we use this information if a site is down or there are issues to contact them on your behalf.
- Choose the site platform and hosting (if WordPress):

- Enter the details of the website on the next screen:

Please be sure to enter accurate information on this screen. Do not rely on previous notes or guesses, log into the account to confirm they are correct as these are crucial accounts for onboarding and resolving site issues.
Note that transactional email provider is almost always Postmark, Shopify, or Squarespace. It is NOT the service the client uses for email marketing or their day to day email.
We ask for an outside domain contact to ensure we can reach the client in the event they let their domain expire and their primary email is under that domain.
- On the next screen, select the care plan for the site:

Before you press Continue, be sure to add the shared credentials to our 1Password vault.
